Architecturally, LuminAir is built around a single, clear story: the bar as an extension of the sky over Amsterdam.
Concept
LuminAir is conceived as a bar that behaves like its own weather system: an interior extension of the Amsterdam sky. Pulsing “cloud” elements shift the room from soft dusk to electric night.
Guest Journey
Arrival from the lift is direct and cinematic: doors open onto the bar and the skyline in a single frame. Guests are drawn first to the island bar, then pulled toward the window-side lounges as they orient themselves to the view.
Layout
A central island bar anchors a long, glazed floorplate that works as a view spine with social pockets. Lounges face the skyline, more sheltered seating sits by the DJ, and a continuous flow leads guests out onto the terrace.
Materiality & Colour
A dark terrazzo floor, warm metals and textured upholstery are chosen to catch and soften light rather than compete with it.

Static colours remain neutral and nocturnal so the lighting, not the finishes, carries most of the chromatic drama.
Atmosphere
Cloud-like luminaires and zoned pixel LEDs script changing “skies” above the room, while smaller fixtures add warm pools of light at table height.

The fully programmable system allows clean transitions from daylight service to late-night bar without altering the physical layout.
FF&E & Custom Elements
Banquettes, chairs and barstools are designed as one family: rounded, comfortable forms on light solid wood frames that keep the room visually open.

The bar, host point and shelving read as sculptural, tiled volumes, giving the space clear anchors without cluttering the floor.
